They were veiwed as craftsmen, but not as improtant as blacksmiths. They both shared a store together, i don't think that was a very good decision! The only reason why they did this thought was for religious purpose. The idea of artistic design was not origanally important. The creation of pictures were to glorify god's. They did this by design and symbols, if i were to see one I would definently take pictures, and look at all the beautiful and small detail! Some of the best painters are in the Romansque Era. One of them is Nicholas of Verdun, who painted Enamel Plaques. This was one of his best painting ever! Another one which i know you probably wont know is Klosternburg Altar. He made it in 1181, wayyyy before your time! The crazy thing about his work is that the clay was flowy so that if he made dresses for girl statues it would be flowy and not all stiff! i wish we had sculptures like that in our town!Tuesday, May 17, 2011

You're right! I didn't know about any of these artists or paintings! Did you find out how he had made the sculpture less stiff? That would be a great tool to use in today's art.
