They were made out of either black stone or wood, they did this because it would last longer. which is good because they put a HUGE amount of time into this, I wouldn't be that patient! Special drills and tools were used to polish parts of the sculpture and also add tiny detail that looked good no matter what! These sculptures were usually in houses, or churches. I would love one of these pieces in my house! They also had a lot of symbols, like I said in my last post! They were made in different sizes, shapes, and with different clay! Like we use today they used the score and slip method! that helpful tip comes in handy! Also they included text/words in some of them, for saying or anything! To heat them up they used a Bonn fire, but in our country now, we use kennels but the same of them two is they both take daysssss to heat up!Tuesday, May 17, 2011

Good Job Krista!! I didn't know they used so many of the same things we did! I would have never thought that they had enough advanced thinking to use the scoring method and bon fires to heat up clay!
